Post-rebuild of a 1997 Yamaha 150HP Salt Water Series II S150TXRV 2 stroke 6 cylinder powerhead.
( Click here to view updated blog with new pictures )

First I'll point out that since initial start of rebuild, I had premix at 25:1 so no fear of under lubing the eng.

I checked several of the points where the cylinder oil tubes connect to the carbs and noticed no oil flow or even residue, so I thought I'd read up on the oil pump. Turns out I must bleed it. So I bleed it by opening the bleeder screw with eng running. OK SO, still no oil getting to the checked 3 cylinders (I didnt check the other 3 for now). Also, port on carbs have audible and feel intake vacuum.

So I ask what is the likeliness that 3 tubes, or 3 check valves are blocked?

When I bled, oil trickled out of the screw; there really was minimal pressure.

I had run the eng for probably 40 minutes before bleeding the oil system. Stupid perhaps. Could I have ruined the pump / what to do now?

Does it make sense to replace tubing with clear tubing (current tubing seems black) so I can see if oil is moving to carbs?
