I have a hell of a time starting my Merc 110 9.8 hp motor when cold. The bulb does not get real hard and it takes 40 to 50 pulls to get it started. after it's started, (or warmed up), it starts just fine. One pull and I'm off. but if I let it sit for an hour or so I go through the same thing all over again. Any help

NELSON,

FIRST TO CHECK IS YOU HAVE ENOUGH GAS INTO YOUR INTAKE CARBS, SO CHECK THE CHOKE FUNCTION.
SECOND: CHECK ENGINE COMPRESION.
THIRD: CHECK IF ANY AIR INTAKE LEAK. MUST TO CHECK INSTALLATION OF YOUR CARBS, GASKETS, INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET, ETC.
ALSO CHECK FOR SPARK ADVANCE.
MY QUESTIONIS: HOW IS YOUR IDLE SPEED (MIN SPEED)?WHEN ENGINE IS WARM/HOT...?
THANKS

CARLOS
VENEZUELA

Idle speed is good, and I have plenty of power, it's just hard to start when cold.
Thanks for your response tho, I'll look into some of your possible problem solving ideas........thanks.......Randy
