Merc 110 overheating

I have a 1969 9.8 hp Merc that runs great and has a strong stream out of the tell-tale. If I run at full throttle for too long it overheats and shuts down. It always restarts right away and cools down nicely if I run at a slower speed. Any thoughts?

Could be to much spark advance or a lean condition if you are getting a good flow at the telltale at high speed

could be water pump, pump housing, t-stat, blockage in water passage ways. lean condition, timing
