I have a 78 115 merc that the water pump was not working on and it ran for aprox 4 minuts before locking (seizing) up. Once it cooled off it turned over and started fine. Is it possable that this motor is still ok? I pulled the plugs and allthough hard to see, it looks ok. Now when i open up the throttle it takes off then bogs like it is running out of fuel.Help please. Tks<br />UPDATE: I have done a compression test and all are 125 to 135. I rebuit the fuel pump and tested it today. Worked fine for about 1 hour till i went to pull a stranded boat in to shore,it was quite a load and after about 5 minuts under load I started to loos power.Un hooked and boat worked good for a while then after sitting for 1/2 hour went out and run into the power loss again. seems like a fuel starvation problem.
