Ok, I'm off to the lake to install rebuilt carb and hoping it makes the difference. If not, next suspect is fuel pump. I noticed at Merc home page that they no longer make the mechanical fuel pump (or the kit to fix it). What are you guys doing for fuel pumps when the original fails? Put a plate over the pump hole in the block and go with an electrical pump? How have you cured this problem?

Thanks for any and all responses from you folks still nursing an old 120.

swabbie

swabbie you can get those pumps still, it is the old blocks with the hole that are hard to get. check filters is there one on pump? how about strainer a spin on filter hidding in bilge? try portable tank yet? dont over engineer that thing yet.A.D.

Check the pressure on that pump first. The 120 are good about a fuel pump so make sure before going any farther. I have had a 120 for some years. You need any help e-mail at rderico@nc.rr.com
