My Quicksilver 3000 has the classic symptom of no throttle movement until the lever is 60% to WOT. The problem is in the control cable or the control box. Previous posts to others say tighten the cable at the engine end. However I would like to peek inside the control lever box and just make sure there is no loose or broken cable connection. I need to remove the thin plastic covers from the outside of the control box (side towards driver) to expose the mounting bolts. I can get the covers partially unclipped, but there seems to be a trick or hidden clips. Any suggestions? My shop manual for the engine ignores the control box. Thanks.
