Merc 140 Wiring Schmatics

Trying to help out a buddy a little. He insists on trying to repair the obsolete , cobbled up , melted wiring in his 1976(he says) Starcraft tri-hull boat.
The engine/drive is a Mercruiser with the serial number of 3386472.

Does anyone out there know where I could get , or have a wiring diagram that I could get?
I told him to buy new boat , but he refuses to give up on the "Titanic II".
Any help would be appreciated greatly!
