we over hauled 1975 150 hp 1500 because all rings were carbond stuck,it ran good before just no power.new rings and boyson reeds.new seals and green check valves inplace of boost port restrictors[should be better?]now has125/130 psig all cyl.engine runs better thanever at idle and low throttle settings.if goig from idle or low speed to1/2-3/4 or more throttle it has smoth miss[all cyl]opening throttle slowley and all is ok [unless you get close to full throt].if running at3000or so rpm and throttle is opened up it misses.timing an syncro is corect.0 degree is at tdc +or- .001.carbs are clean and synced-jets are new and shiney.tryed richer and leaner jets but that only made it richer or leaner with out changing miss.when we firs ran engine after overhaul we found coil wire[ht]was barly pluged in pluged all the way in helped alittle-not much.it was run like that an hour or so. did ew burn up coil?power pack?triger?dose any one know trouble shooting this stuf wit ohm meter[soecs and procedure].i can do it if i can find info.only other choice is substitution-very expensive way!!!!!!
thanks
David

Re: merc 150hp missing at low manifold pressures

man-is my typing bad!!!!!!!!!! better than it was!!!!the mercury 150 hp is a inline 6-1500.sn.4123701.the manifold pressure im refering to is intake[between reeds and butterfly]and indicates load/rpm/throttle opening.iam not measuring this but using it to help describe symptoms.i will try to proff read in future so that it will be easier to read
thanks
David
ps. some one please answer-even just to tell me im nuts[this engine is making me nuts!]
