I have a powerhead that i am rebuilding, and the connecting rods for cylinders 1-4 have a slight play where it connects to the crank, cylinders 5&6 are snug, the crank rotates fairly easy, but i'm not sure if this is ok?

any previous knocking from motor? If you have excessive clearance problems with connecting rods on these two cylinders they need attention.whether you adress them or not would depend on how much use you intend to get out of motor

Yes, after i rebuilt it a couple years ago, i started it up, and i could her a tap sound which seemed to come from cylinders 5 and 6, (it was the end of the season so i put it up, and i wasn't here last year), so should there be a slight bit of play? and i'm not exactly sure what you mean about the excessive clearance problem, what do you suggest i do?
