IF the w/pump and popit valve are working properly then the heat sender unit on the engine is bad

The water pump is new....less than 20 hrs.....and it was pumping....had steady stream of water coming out.....before & after alarm started sounding....that was the 1st thing I looked for.....as for popit valve....I know nothing of that.....what would cause this heat sneder to go out? Would long periods of 4900 rpm do that?
I was thinking more along the lines of the oiler resovoir being low......is there an alarm on that?

the long beeeeeeeeeeep as you describe is the heat sender not oil. Before you replace the heat sender I would pull the poppit valve for inspection. It is usually located under the ignition plate on most motors. What's your serial # so I can check for sure.

Thanks for the info.....I am out of town @ the moment, I'll try & get you the serial number soon.

You seem very knowledgeable on this.....have you mechanical experience w/ these engines?

I take it that the poppit is much more inexpensive fix than the heat sensor?

Also, could the running of the motor for a prolonged period of time have caused this or was it just time for it to go out?
