Merc 20hp Outboard, have S/N, need year?

Hi,<br />I just picked up a Mercury 20 Outboard, which has a steering wheel and throttle controls. The serial number is 07132892, how can I find out what year it is? Also, as this is my first Outboard, is there anything I should check first? The motor looks to be in excellent condition, only Freshwater, but I just want to make sure. <br /><br />Thanks in advance,<br />Tim

Unfortunately, your engine is Canadian and the serial numbers I have access to are U.S. I'd take the serial nr. to a Mercury dealer and while getting the year model, get a manual for it.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
