Hi Boaters,
I once again come seeking your help (2nd day in a row)

As per yesterdays thread I've removed my exhaust manifold/riser and have ordered new ones, as well as a new thermostat.

Since I am super new to boats, I've now figured out that I have a closed cooling system, so while I wait for my parts to come in, I was hoping to do some checks/maintenance on it (if needed).

Once again poking around online I can't seem to find how to deal with this system and whether I should remove the heat exhanger and flush/clean it etc.

It looks like it is the OEM system. Do I top the fluid up through the radiator cap? (I don't see an external reservoir). Is the fluid water or antifreeze?

Sorry for all the simple stupid questions, I am honestly not having any luck with google/youtube.

All and any tips are greatly appreciated.

With closed cooling it should have a antifreeze bottle but if it doesn't then yes the HE should be full at the radiator cap

Required maintenance on the heat exchanger is for it to be removed and professionally cleaned every 3 or 4 years. Any car radiator shop should be able to deal with it for you.

Use an antifreeze appropriate to your area. And get an overflow reservoir. Again, the radiator shop should be able to help you with that...
