I have a 2000 Galstron SX175 with the Mercruiser 3.0 and it is my first boat. I have had it over a year and when I first bought it I took it to a reputable mechanic and had him look over the whole thing. He rebuilt the carb and flushed the fluids and now I do the routine maintance myself. Once it warms up it seems to run fine except it seems to stall at about 1/4 throttle or 1/3 throttle. If you floor it, it runs smooth. It is just that area in the throttle that seems to stall. Could anyone help me out on this? I run 93 octane only because that is what the mechanic told me to run in it to help keep the motor clean.
So far I have replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, distrib cap, and changed the oil/oil filter. Plus any advice on maintance I may have missed would be appreciated. We have been running the boat at the lake and river almost every weekend with 5 people or so in it and it has run great. Over the past (its been in the family) couple of years it has gone through about one belt a year. I think I have this fixed because the alternator was misaligned I believe. I now carry an extra belt at all times.
Once again thank you for reading this post and any help would be appreciated. Thank you all.
