Engine won't turn over, Battery strong at 13 volts. If I tap on the starter and solenoid with a small hammer she starts right up. I remembered doing that with an old car motor years ago. Time for a new starter?

could be. however I would start with cleaning the contacts of the battery cables first.

Agree with Scott-Start at the battery terminals and get them nice and clean...should be shiny.

If you have a mutli-meter it is a quick test to figure out the issue....some quick searching on this forum will tell ya.

Could also be your slave solenoid and/or its contacts

Thanks folks. Cutting out the corroded wire portions and replacing all wire terminals with new ones. An easy job. Will keep small hammer on hand just in case.... ;)
