Merc 3.9 hp lower end unit

I inherited a 1963 3.9 hp Mercury outboard. The motor runs great but the lower end unit is shot. Should I try to obtain one--and if so where? Or can I get it repaired--and if so where?

Hi,<br />Most big parts are NLA for this lowerunit. What is shot,gears?? If so look for another LU. Bearings can be gotten as can seals, water pump ect.
