Merc 350 Starter Removal

HELLO ALL CAN ANY ONE HELP ME I HAVE THE SAME OUTBOARD MOTOR model 350 Mercury 35 Hp Outboard Motor HOW CAN I TAKE STATER OFF AND OUT THERES A BRACKET DOS THE FLY WHEEL HAVE TO COME OFF PLEASE HELP HERES SOME A PIC THANKS ALL JIM FROM MICHIGAN

byrdman4u This is your new thread after moving the post out of an old thread. Take a look at the Help Tip on top of the page.


Take off the three wires on the solenoid with the arrows, the one on the large stud and the two on the small studs. Then remove the two circled bolts through the block. Move all the wires out of the way and tilt the top of the starter out of the block ears and lift it out.

Let us know if you still have trouble removing the starter.

BTW - All caps is considered yelling.

still cant get starter back in on a 1967 mercury outboard 350 35 hp theres no room to slide it back in the bracket what do I have to take

Reverse how you took it out. If you followed post #2, start reading it backwards from the end.
