merc 4.3 water temp and max rpm ?

hi everyone , we just bought a 1989 thundercraft 220 magnum with the 4.3 motor and merc sterndrive . does anybody know what the max water temp should be and what the max rpm should be ? thankyou ..

Best to tell us what temps you are getting, along with what type system you have. Raw water, cloesed cooling, etc.

Ayuh,.... Less than 180?,+ 4800 rpms or less....

thanks everyone , we havent had the boat out yet , we are still cleanig and waxing . the motor is raw water cooling . i think i will have to get another another prop , the one on it is a 19 pitch , i am thinking a 16 or 17 pitch ..
