I know a marina that is doing a repower. I took a pair of 454's out. one is counter rotating, compression is decent motors have about 2000 hours. they are complete with clutches. I think the clutches are 72 seriers velvet drives with a 1.98 ratio. motors can be had for a decent price. I think the guy is asking 5K for the pair.may golower. I did see ATF in the bilge so I suspect at least one of the cluches may leak or when he replaced the port trans oil cooler the fitting is not tight.I think they are 1990 motors.<br /> but they are full fresh water cooled and the risers were replaced a few years back and still look ok from the outside.
now installing the new 8.1's with the down angle ZF trannys is gonna be fun. the block to coupler flange is 6" shorter on the new ones so I have to replace all the mount pads and move them aft 6" and that will start the project.<br /> gosh I hate big boats but the 25 hours or s pay is nice
