Merc 470 vs 3.2 L Volvo Penta (4cyl)

In my journey of Merc 470 repair/replace... I found a Volvo Penta with boat...good price(????)!
I know nothing about the Volvo Penta 3.2 L.

Any warnings, suggestions, or observations about this motor vs going with the Merc.

Never heard of a Volvo 3.2, did you mean 2.3?

What is the model number of the engine, and which drive? Year?

So, by our previous threads...I will not even consider the Volvo, and will go with the Merc.

I'm simply trying to find a good power choice for the boat, before I get too committed...

Don't know??? The owner gave me the engine size, but having done some looking, I guess it is a 2.3!
