Gentlemen,

engine 2005 merc 5.0 mpi # 0W040809. Port engine reads no oil pressure. Swapped gauges with stbd engine and same thing, I guess gauge is not the issue. Replaced oil pressure sending unit and same thing, no oil pressure. What else is between gauge and sending unit that could be causing this issue?

thank you in advance for any tips

Plug a mechanical gauge in the sender fitting on the motor. Maybe you have no oil pressure.

Agree mechanical gauge

Do think you have pressure otherwise you would be hearing an alarm and a code would be set. You have 2 oil pressure senders. one has a 3 wire plug, and the other is analog with a single wire. The single wire sender is below the distributor at the rear of the block

Check continuity of the Dark Blue wire from sender to gauge.
Check for for 12V and good ground on the gauge

If all good, attach a jumper from the Blue wire on gauge to ground, gauge should peg high

Did you just change the engine oil and "filter" and now no oil pressure?... Try another oil filter as that can be a known issue for no pressure reading at the helm gauge....Plus be sure the oil level is reading full....How many quarts of oil do you believe may be in the engine at this time?

Thank you all for the advice, after starting engine for the third time gauge started showing pressure, I wonder if sender unit had to filled with oil in order to go up in gauge. Tomorrow boat is going in the water and will check thoroughly. Oil level is good/normal, temperature is normal.
