I have a 10 3/4" shaft, Would a prop with a 10 1/2' shaft be compatable??

I don't think I ever saw props compared that way.I woudn't think 1/4" would matter.
Are there any numbers on the props,or do you know what they were on?
Also the critical info is the diameter and pitch. The prop may fit your motor but be comepletely wrong for your application.

You are mistaken on what the number means. The number is the diameter of the prop and has nothing to do with the shaft. We also don't have any idea what year this engine is. The 50 HP three cylinders with a 1.83:1 gear case typically ran a 10-1/4 x 13P (pitch) prop on the average 16 - 17 foot walleye style (side console) boat. The slight difference in diameter is insignificant and is the result of the prop design.

Yea, this is a new one for me,I had a 30 horse Evinrude for years, you could throw about anything that spins on that. Just bought this 2003 50 ELHPTO and with a little research (ouch), it has the shaft you mentioned and the diameter refers to the width of the blades (I feel stupid). It has a 10.375 x 12p rh.
Thanks for your replies guys and Happy fishing.
