2005 Merc 502's IO. Hi, spending this weekend in a nice pricey Marina. Problem started when I started the engines Friday, had a bad solenoid, so I by passed it and started right up. When I went to start it today, went to bypass it it got a bunch of sparks and nothing happened. So, now when I turn the ignition to on, fuel pump does not power up. I can jump and turn the engine over, but won't start. Took all of the relays in the control box and swapped them with the other engine. Obviously this got messed up, but by how much, don't know.

Next steps? Does the brain control the fuel pump when ignition is turned on?

Thanks

2005 Fountain with 502's MERC EFI.

Looked at the fuses in the control box. Three of them, also one inline fuse next to the box.

I would guess you are trying to jump start it from the starter solenoid. You have a a square fuse (90A) on the starter solenoid that provides power to the rest of the engine. When you produced all those sparks, you blew the fuse.
Here is the wiring diagram for the starting system, It's item H in the drawing.
In the future when you want to jump the starter, best to jump the two large terminals on the slave solenoid (C in the drawing). Does the same thing.

Thank you. That's what I was looking for! It's the 90!
