I have found this site very useful so far, but this is my first posting hope yall can help.<br />I have a late 60's mercury 6 hp and the lower unit is froze up but everything else is in great clean shape, it is a short shaft. I have been looking on ebay to find the lower unit, will a 9.8 or 7.5 unit fit my motor, and can i convert a long shaft to a short shaft. any other suggestions on places to look? Im in college and trying not to spend a whole lot of money to get it running.<br />Thanks
