Merc 60HP removing Piston

Simple Im sure when you know how but how do I take the metal C shaped clips out of the sides of the piston so I can remove the metal rod holding the piston to the long thing. Excuse my use of technical terms but hopefully somebody will understand where Im coming from .<br />Thanks<br />P.S Yes I probably will never get it reassembled but hey at least im keen!

You get under part of it with a very small screwdriver or pick, then work it out. Use new clips on re-assembly.<br /><br />-W

also wear safty glasses. them clips come out mighty fast on occasion. one eyed boat mechanics are right funny looking.<br /> good luck and keep posting
