After posting a few topics and doing a lot of research, I (or you!!) worked out that it was either my trigger or switch box that was stopping the above engine from sparking.

It is the 3 cylinder model with one coil (type III ignition) It would spark one day and run like a dream then the next day it would not. I had it down to the trigger.

I took both the trigger and switchbox to be tested. The bloke at the shop let me use the analyser, the trigger tested good and the switchbox bad. I then ordered a new switchbox which I have just picked up and fitted (332-4796a).

The bloody thing is still not sparking. The box is brand new, but could it be faulty straight from the shop? If it was working would I have voltage at the green terminal going to the coil? I think so and if I am right, how much?

I do have 12v to red and white wire.

Hi skeets,
I have just tested the coil (I think I have done it right but not sure)and seem to have continuity between negative and coil tower. This means it is bad????

Do you know if I should have current at the lead from switch box to coil? Or can it only be measured with a DVA?
