I have an old Merc 650 (4 cyl)1970 model. It wont turn more than 3300 rpms, a little rough on idle but runs good otherwise. changed the plugs and noticed bottom two cylinders looked like they had water on them so I screwed one out and cranked engine sure enough had a little water coming out. any simple ideas on what might be wrong?

Welcome to iboats.

Simple but not pleasant. Cracked block. They like to do that if they're badly overheated. But before you jump off a bridge or something, drain the bottom carb and see if the water is coming from there. Gas floats on water, so it's possible that as fuel is being pumped, mostly gas goes to the top carb and any water in the gas mostly finds its way to the bottom one. Cross your fingers that that's all it is.
