hi i need a power head for a 1972 7.5 mercury but the only one i can find is a 1981...will this work?

It should interchange as a complete unit but there are differant carbs, ign and other parts involved so need the complete engine to make it work

thanks for reply but im afraid it was only the powerhead for sale.

Then it probably won't work as they used upper main brg systems to fasten the ign systems too
