Hi,
I have just purchased a Merc 75Hp 2 stroke, serial No. 09587357. Its a 3 cylinder engine, made in Belgium. I am told its a 1996 model, a de-tuned 90Hp. Can anyone confirm this?

I have a question regarding the wiring harness for the Tacho. I have just purchased a Quicksilver harness and after market tacho that adjusts for differing charger polls. I have wired up as indicated in the manual (black grnd, purple battery, bown alternator feed). When I turn on the ignition I get +12v at the purple, when the engine runs I get -12v at the brown, this varies with the revs. However, tacho needle just blips with ignition and does not move with revs. I think I might have been given the incorrect harness from the Quicksilver control to the tacho. Any ideas?

Cheers from a sunny, great white shark infested UK.

Dave.
