Merc 75hp help

I've just bought a 1986 bass tracker with a 75 merc. I purchased from a friend who had it sitting for abt. 2 yrs. I have been online looking for a manual all day and have had no luck. I have the serial #A198267 which I beleive is also a 86 model. I've removed and cleaned the carbs and found them to be free of any debris. I also noticed 2 wires frayed just under the fuel pump. The wires came out from under the flywheel just above the carbs.(2 yellow wires).I repaired the wires. I also found 1 wire frayed from the rear of the engine. This was a tan wire coming from under the rear of the flywheel. I repaired this wire also. I am not getting any spark and don't have enough info to continue testing. Any help with diagnostics or hints as to where to find an online manual would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Did you try clicking on manuals at the top of this page? You won't find an online manual as it would be a violation of copywrite laws. The 2 yellow wires come from your stator. If you disconnect them and put an ohm meter on them, I believe they should read 5-6,000 ohms.
