merc 8 prong harness

Got a 8 prong we cut the end off to wire straight to a 04 merc 15 thats 4 stroke and dont know where the purple wire is supposed to connect to. Everything else is matched and we by-passed the kill switch on the motor leaving them apart and capped.

Purple is the color wire generally used by the ignition power circuit. It powers the gauges and other small items that only work with the ign key in the run position.
