I have rebuilt the carbs , fuel pump water, pump and told the boat shop to replace all the wiring entirely and the stator. The boat shop says the stator is good but the power pack was replaced and the carbs richened up. Comp. check showed good. The wiring didn't get replaced as asked. <br />upon trial run it took a half mile to get to top end to lap the lake. It won't open up now past 4k rpm. I get the song about "varnish" being the cause from the boat shop. Merc owners tell me its an electrical problem. If its a slight varnish problem plugging the high speed jets in the carb won't replacing them cure the trouble? The gas is new and clean in the sight glass strainer. Help I want to fish not be a mechanic or too broke to buy bait paying for ineffective repairs.<br />Thanks
