Howdy, So I'm the final stages of a rebuild on a 1973 Mercury 850 o/b and I been looking everywhere for the torque specs for the flywheel bolts, the 8 or so that hold it to the pulley on top of the crank. It doesn't say in the manual or in the seloc service manual. Does anyone know the value or where I could find it?

Thank you!

Normally those bolts do not need to be removed.---And no idea why someone would.-------Make sure you get it back in the correct position.----Then torque the to 150 inch lbs.

Put blue locktite on those bolts as well as the distributor pulley cover bolt.

Racerone, it is convenient to remove those 8 bolts to access the stator, replace the drive belt or when rebuilding the motor. It saves the use of a puller on the inner flywheel.

If it is put back together wrong, your timing will show 360/8 (45*) off. If you cannot detect that, you have other issues.
