Merc 898 manifold question

I have a 79 merc 898 with the log style end riser mani's which are totally shot. My question is can any other style of manifolds interchange with this motor? Or does it need to be a replacement of the same style.

With enough time and money, you can adapt about any kind of manifold to it, why?
Your least expensive way to replace them is with the original style.

You can switch them to center rise, but you will need to find a new home for the bolt ons......
Not worth the aggravation, imho.....​

I was just asking out of curiosity mostly. I am not really wanting to put any more money into it anyway. What would be a fair asking price for the complete motor minus the mani's? Motor is in good shape fresh tune up. Not sure on the hours though.

$500-700, they are pretty common & usually when people repower they move up to 5.7......​

Keep it and part it out on ebay.
