Merc 9.8 shifting but now has starting problems

Well I fixed the misaligned shifter shafts and all is well there now....but now the motor will not start.<br /><br />Starts and then quits if you shoot some fuel into the carb. Checked the lines and there is fuel up to the carb.<br /><br />Any ideas what to look for for possible fuel starvation?<br />The motor was without fuel for only 2 days but we had it turn every kind of way during the shifter shaft fix.<br /><br />Thanks for any info.
