I have a 1995 Mercruiser/Alpha I 3.0/135 HP motor.
Cold starting is great, full throttle to neutral, 1/4 throttle and starts on first try.
Once I shut down the motor to fish/swim... roughtly 1/2 to an 1 hour. I try to restart the motor and sometimes I have to let it sit in between cranks.
I've tried to start it like its cold at full throttle, to neutral and tried 1/4 throttle nothing really seems to work. The plugs are good.
Anybody have an suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you shoudl need to give it full throttle, it won't need that rich a mixture when it's warm and you are probably flooding by pumping the accelerator pump. Try just moving it to 1/8 - 1/4 throttle and trying to start, you should definitely not need to go to full throttle except maybe once it's it's fired. For what it's worth, my 3.0 can be a little iffy starting when warm.

What is the proper procedure to shut the motor down?
If your just going slow <5-10 mph would you just shut the motor down or give it alittle throttle prior to shut down?

Thanks for the info!
