So 350 gm block with alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive. Put her in gear, give her gas everything is peachy until around 2,300 rpm’s and she starts bogging down. Starts up perfect, idles perfect, put her in neutral and she purrs at 4K rpm.. but not in gear.. electric fuel pump with Holley dbl pmp carb. I’m hoping someone can shed some light on what may of caused this. Thank you

Could be several things

quality of fuel supply- empty contents if fuel filter into clear jar should be fresh clean gas
low fuel pressure measure fuel pressure at that rpm should have 4-6 psi
is the ignition system in good shape timing properly set and is full advance happening
carb could need a rebuild and cleaning
what jetting is in the carb holley double pumper didn’t come stock is it properly set up for application?

reving it up in neutral is meaningless, takes no power to rev without a load on it

Okay so I will check fuel filter gas. I thought it might be a timing issue. I am recently a new owner to the boat so the old owner said everything was running fine when he stored it 2yrs ago. I’m guessing the fuel is bad but I’ll be honest I don’t understand how it can run so good at idle and wot (in neutral) and not be effected by bad gas until under load. I didn’t realize that was possible, so thank you and I will let you know how I make out.
