merc bravo2 tilt up/down question....

My bravo 2 trim button only works if i press the up toggle. down toggle is dead. nothing...I cant lower my drive..any ideas??? it worked fine before i trailered the boat from florida to california last month. thanks for any clues...

ok<br /> at the trim pump there is 2 solinoids. one with a green wire and one with a blue. use the meter to see if the green 18 ga wire has 12v applied to it when the down button is depressed. if it does not check the 3 prong connector plug at the pump. if you have 12v on the harness side and not the pump side the connection in the plug may be bad. once you dissconnect that 3 prong plug your trim switch will have no power. with the harness side in your hand you will need to verify continuity, with the down switch depressed, from the green terminal to the red one.<br /> could be a failed solinoid or switch or the plug was jarred loose during transit.

do what don says, and then if all okay, tap LIGHTLY on the solenoids while a helper pushes the switch, if it comes to life, you have a bad solenoid and/or connection, however if it doesnt come to life this does not nesessarily mean the solenoid IS NOT bad

thanks to all for the input...really helps...so if i jumper the red wire on the pump side of the harness to the other wires, the pump works and both solenoids work. makes high whine sound when one side is jumpered and a lower sounding whine when the other side is jumpered. the drive still doesnt move up or down. any more idea?
