merc cruiser 165hp inboard motor

The problem I am having is, the when the accelerator is pushed down the engine starts reving up and the prop will not engage, but if you just barily engage the throttle the prop drive will engauge and turn? If anyone could give me a suggestion or answer for this problem I would sure use it.

Sounds like you have a spun hub on your prop.
