Merc Flywheel Compatibility

So im having problems finding a USED flywheel for my 90hp merc. A local shop near me has one that looks identical to a T but he tells me that since the numbers dont match up it wont work. He also said it was because it came off a 4cyl as opposed to the 3cyl I have. Can anyone maybe cross-reference these for me and confirm that they are not swappable. Hes asking for about a quarter of what a new one will cost and id like to get lucky somewhere. <br /><br />My part no 261-9007-c2<br />His part no 261-9008-c2<br /><br />Thanx guys <br />Brad

Green95hoe, have you found your flywheel yet? I hate to see someones boat down. My flywheel #s match yours if you still need one.

I got one. found a used one in excellent shape for 50 bucks up the street. I was out of the four cylinder motor but it worked just fine. Already gotten by my break in period on the engine just need better weather to take her out on the ocean

I need a flywheel for my 1996, Force 120. Numbers under side 261-9007-c2, top side on gear DA 111719, top 36, 2565, 43 817409 1.
