jigmister, Be Rest assured that Gerry has givin you the correct information for a new mercury marine service manual, Part number 90-976583, I double checked the information for you using your engine serial number and It all matches up correctly, like it always does from Gerry.;)

I hope this will help you out, Good luck with it.:)

Re: merc manual

Jigmister;

Believe me, I make more mistakes than anybody and when you have made as many as I have, you can then start to worry.

The manual we have given you the information for is the manufacturers manual. The manual you have is an aftermarket manual and in my not so humble opinion, is a piece of crap.

Feel free to use whichever one you want. If you wish to post the s/n list from your Seloc manual that is confusing you, we may be able to clarify it for you.

The intent here is to have you leave, feeling satisfied that you have all of the information you require and that you clearly understand it and feel more confident about the work you are performing on your engine.

Always continue to ask if you don't understand.

Re: merc manual

Not questioning anyones ability here to select the correct manual. Not that at all.
Only questioning my own ability to do so.
Wondering what the numbers and letters mean. I am sure its some type of code.
You guys have enforced what appears to be the correct manaul to me.
thanks!

I will certainly order that manual today. I plan to keep this old boat a few more years maybe many more than that. Once you know what you got and how to repair it when needed its hard to let go. Nothings better than a boat thats paid for that you can repair and maintain yourself.
Thanks for all the great help! I will have plenty more questions along my way.
Awsome site.

Here is a link to the sticky at the top of this forum. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=459535

Download the service manual index, I think after you look at it, you will understand how to find the manual you need using the serial number from your engine.

Re: merc manual

344;

Can get you a manual number but as there are so many model numbers for the 75hp I need the s/n and model number of your engine, if you have either.
