Merc mariner serial number problem

Guys,
bought a used mariner 25 hp outboard.
Fella i got it from says the 2 marinas he had check the year on for him both said it was a 1989 and runs 32:1 oil/gas!

Your link to the chart on the other mariner serial number post says its a 1993 can anyone nail this down for me

serial number 0d201253 25 hp mariner electris start with pull rope and longshafr!

I need to know the year for sure( parts in the future) and the oil/gas mix!
All mariners ive found past 1974 are 50:1!

1987 - 1989 models began with a B, 1990 models with a C, and 1991 models with a D. Based on your number, you do indeed have a 1993 model. Check your fuel oil ratios based on that. I've looked a few guides now. With a D starting your serial number, it can't be a 1989.

I have a shop manual that should cover a 93 25HP. Mine is a 94 50HP. If I can remember, I'll see if it lists the proper ratio for you. I'll let you know.

Thanks a bunch bud.
Im no rookie and rebuilt my merc 25/20 jet this year with no problems using the serial number to buy my parts(pistons rings bearings waterpump carb rebuild)
but this one i wasnt sure,i hate to argue with a marina(let a lone 2) but i thought it was a 1993!
Know anywhere i can get a "service manual"?
I got a downladabl;e one for my merc jet @ www.outboardexpert.com for 13.95 and that runs circles around the oh so general clymer and seloc manuals!
Id like to find an original merc/mariner service manual for this motor only if possible,thanks in advance!

I own 7 motors.
When I bought them, only one person quoted the correct year on the motor.
I think most people guess or forget over time.
Never hurts to double check no matter where you buy.
