merc or honda

buting new 15 4 stroke.....looking at honda and merc....any suggestions..(leaning toward honda )

If you need a lot of dealer support for maintenance etc.,make sure you have a local dealer who will support you.

was in the "executive meeting room" reading a back<br />copy of trailer boats magazine (free from Iboats.com)<br />they did a side by side test of all the major OB's.<br />the Merc's outperformed the rest on both top end<br />speed and range.<br />of course these were 225's?, but i was personally<br />(and pleasantly) surprised.<br />don't know if this applys to a 15hp, but agree<br />that support weighs in on the decision.<br />with proper maint, both are a good choice IMHO.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

Go with the New Honda 15/20. I have run my 15 hp for several years and it has only seen the shop one time and I can't even remember what for, something minor though, maybe a water pump impeller. Just do your lower end oil change yearly and the motor oil about every 50 hours or so after the break in change.

yes, I agree with getting the Honda 15 or 20.<br />My friend has a 15 and loves it. Great motors.<br />Also, check out Yamaha
