I have twin 470 mercruisers. Recently I replaced the eletric shifters with cables because of shiftering problems. I am able to set the shifters up to get forward and reverse when the motors are not running. But, when I turn the engines on and try to shift I am not able to get both f and r. By making adjustments I can get one of forward or reverse but not both.
