Merc Type 2 Power Steering Pump

In discussion in another thread I got to researching the issue with the GM Type 2 Saginaw PS pump with remote tank. Unable to find a cross over for the Merc P/N 806230T, just using pics and current specs for the two models found.

If the Type 2 is anything left the Type 1 in reference to output pressure, this could be the difference between the auto and marine models. The Merc parts are as always using there premium black paint to justify the addition $400 increase.

Ayuh,...... Awfully expensive paint in my book,...

I wonder how tough it is to change the relief valve in the new pumps, vs: the ease of the old ones,.....

It looks like it screws into it like the old one, would be nice if someone would be really nice and try. There showing 1200 psi and right now I am unable to find where I put the spec pressure of the type 1
