After many hours of frustration and money, Ive found post that shows the mercarb without a power piston? Can anyone confirm this? My carb serial number is 1389-9562. It has ONE mixture screw. I'm led to believe this is a Mercarb and not a Rochester.

I've been dealing with gas dumping into my intake. I'm hoping this will finally fix my issue by removing my power piston that's not supposed to be there..

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Ok disregard that lol, I do believe the power piston is supposed to be there. Mine is very loose though.. I think that's my issue it's constantly pressing the power valve down and flooding my intake. What could I use to seal it in place that would be carburetor friendly?

If the carb internals are that worn. ... the power piston is part of the carb top cover. You could just buy that, but as I said, if that part is worn that heavily, it's likely the rest of the carb is too.

I've discovered that isn't the problem. I opened her back up and the bowl is full of gas. The power piston is stuck in there. Easy to pull out but it definitely stays. Sorry my post was vague.

I believe my issue is more or less the float. I'm using a brand new brass float that came with my kit. It has zero markings on it. Although when I pulled it back out it was still level like I set it. I'm not sure where to measure from on the brass float. If the air horn is upside down the float should be level correct? That is without the spring being pushed it. I just adjusted the float, although it is no longer level. I'll report back. Any suggestions are welcome too

Yes I've read through the manual a hundred times. I finally got it figured out though. The issue wasn't with WHAT the measurements were, it was more to do with WHERE. The brass float dosent have any markings.
