Hey guys
I rebuilt my carb over the winter and I'm really close with it now at first it was flooding and would hesitate than break loose going to wot so I pulled it apart and checked the float levels and went back to the solid needle (figured that's what was in it before rebuild) I found I measured the float drop at the wrong part of the float so I tripled checked my settings and I'm dead on now and it's running really well but I getting a slight surge at wot and didn't have that the first time just the hesitation when throttling up no surging I would assume I need to lower the float a hair I just figured I'd ask as I don't wanna keep pulling the carb apart thanks for any input in advance also all filters are clean and new

I would check your fuel pressure first, should be between 4 to 6 psi. If you could put the gauge on and leave it there when running would be best

I was also thinking maybe the pump because last night on the way back to the dock it was struggling to get on plane like its being starved so in the next day or two I'll put a gauge on it and run it under load

Could a bad fuel pump cause flooding at idle (too much pressure) , I rebuilt my carb over the winter because of flooding at idle that started outta the blue one day at the end of last year , could it be that it's now showing up with fuel starvation at wot. In other words did I rebuild my carb and it was actually the pump and it's just getting progressively worse also there's no fuel in clear tube so I know it's not completely ruptured I just wondering because I'm still flooding at idle along with the problems at wot as I know my float levels are dead on now just thinking now maybe the pump was my problem all along. I will verify pressure when I get down to the boat just wondering
