In order to clean up and re-organize my engine compartment I removed the mercathode system from my boat. I disconnected the wires and boxed it up. Now that i am starting to put things back together I am wondering how I can test its function. Might as well reinstall it if it works right?

It is tested by having the boat in the water for at least 24 hours, and plugged into shore power. Need a platinum coated wire probe and it gets connected to a good multimeter. Meter is placed on millivolts and probe placed in the water behind the drive. The negative on the meter is connected to the battery ground.

Now if you do not leave the boat connected to shore power in the water, you don't need it

Well then, since my dock has no shore power and I leave it on a trailer when Im not around, I guess I will leave the parts in a box for now and tidy up the orange and brown wires for a possible future install. Thank you.
