Mercontrol throttle backwards

I have a 18 HP Mercury outboard and the throttle is backwards when connected to the control box. The box is set for WOT when in Neutral. When I move the lever the cable comes in slowing down the motor. Is there two types of boxes? Can the cam be changed? <br />

On some boxes you can move the cables to the top rather than the bottom.<br /><br />This will reverse the box.<br /><br />TMD

The cable only has one point to attach and it is on the bottom. Was there two designs?
