Greetings all.....

replaced thermostat. Dumb question I have is, there is a hose coming from what appears to be the intermediate housing to the thermostat housing. I assume this is where the sea water from the stern drive enters...Is there supposed to be water pumping from this hose? I would think there should be. There is NO water coming out of the hose. Checked for obstructions at stern drive intake. was none. drive is a 2 year old SE106, find it hard to accept impeller in drive is bad already....
Tried using muffs still no water........

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

If you tried ear muffs and still no water you have a serious blocking problem. When you hooked up your ear muffs that are pressurized roughly 45lbs and still no water something is blocking your water intake.Like achis said start by looking at your water impeller and I would take a hose and put it to the water intake hole at the gimbal housing and see if any water comes out of the exhaust outlet on the gimbal.

Try running water backwards thru that hose and have someone watch the drive see what comes out.

You ether sucked up something or impeller broke up and clogged that hose.

Check the impeller.

NOTHING should come out... If you get water coming out there is something seriously wrong! And that doesn't mean if no water comes out nothing is wrong.... Take the lower unit off and visually inspect the water pump and all related parts....
