I have found the idle rpm's in gear on the tune-up chart. Is the out of gear idle rpm's the same? I am trying to find out whats safe for the gears RPM wise for shifting into gear.

Howdy,

In general, the IDLE RPM is the RPM when NOT in gear(IN NEUTRAL). Running the engine at an RPM higher than recommended, will eventually damage to the shift dogs in an Alpha, Cobra, or other Dog-Clutch drive.
